I got an email saying, concerning Matt. 19, that when Jesus answered the young man, He said, ‘You know the commandments, and therefore, we don’t have to keep them.’
This tells you that all people know the commandments but they say, ‘We don’t have to keep them’!
Let’s go to Matt. 19 and we’ll read it here. Then we’ll look at the parallel account of Mark and in also Luke. We will see that there is no way that you can conclude from what Jesus said or what the young man said that you don’t have to keep the commandments of God.
People are all locked into this Protestant thought that if you just have your little confessional and call Franklin Graham at this number or whoever the minister is, you are secure in heaven. You’re no more secure in heaven than you are with whatever you could compare it to because there’s no comparison...
